Emme Keeler, a talented pastry chef, is preparing for her professional pitch to become the reigning doyenne of the highly competitive cake world. And we meet Allison and David Burbage, a troubled couple and their antisocial son. And finally, there is the Burbage family: an attractive 30-something couple who resent their uncontrollable rage and struggle to make ends meet.

STEPHANIE DALEY

In this Jim Gaffigan comedy, forensic psychologist Lydie Crane, who herself suffered a stillbirth, is sent to examine the psyche of teenager Stephanie Daley. Daley, who has been accused of the murder of her newborn, is in the middle of a court trial. As Stephanie recounts the events leading up to her pregnancy and labor, we're given a glimpse into her life and the tragic events that ultimately lead to her infant's death.

When Stephanie returns to the small town where she grew up, she learns that her father has filed a murder charge against her. The prosecutor hires forensic psychologist Lydie Crane to interview Stephanie and gather more evidence. She is shocked to learn that Stephanie has a dark past. She was a teen mother who abandoned her unborn baby and was pregnant with him. Despite her efforts to explain her past actions, she ultimately admits that she was pregnant and tries to hide it from her parents.

Stephanie's marriage is rocky, partly because her unborn baby was stillborn. And her father is also a renowned comedian, making him an unlikely dramatic foil for Stephanie. And yet, the comedy doesn't stop there. It is a sly comedy, and we laugh along with the characters at several points in the movie. In the end, the film leaves us hanging.

Obsessed

Obsessed by Jim Gaffigan is an enjoyable comedy about an overeating and undereating maniac. Gaffigan has a penchant for consuming entire pints of ice cream in one sitting and he's no stranger to embarrassing marriage rituals.
